As EVP of Development and Strategy, Mr. Weber will oversee the growth and success of Exchange Traded Funds, Structured Products and Equity Order flow. As part of his responsibilities, he will be focused on positioning the Amex to respond to competitive changes in the marketplace as well as oversee the business development of ETFs and Structured Products and attract new order flow to the Exchange.
Mr. Weber joined the Amex in 1990 and played a key role in the deployment and development of the Exchange’s successful ETF business. During his 17 years at the Amex, he rose through the ranks heading product development and marketing of ETFs, most recently as SVP of the ETF Marketplace. Mr. Weber received his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in systems from the University of Pennsylvania.
“Cliff has extensive knowledge and vast experience in all of Amex’s business groups and his record of accomplishment, particularly in ETFs, will provide the Exchange with solid leadership as we move forward in our strategic objectives,” said Neal Wolkoff, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer.
Replacing Mr. Weber as SVP of the ETF Marketplace will be Mr. Ebner. In his new role, Mr. Ebner will oversee the ETF Marketplace and be responsible for new product development and the marketing of ETFs.
He joined the Amex in 1998 and has been instrumental in the expansion of Amex’s ETF business, previously running the Amex’s index calculation program, and most recently serving as Vice President of the ETF Marketplace in charge of new product development. Scott received his bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary with a dual concentration in Economics and International Relations.
“Scott brings considerable talent and experience to this position and his expertise in ETFs will greatly contribute to the Amex’s standing as the leader in innovation and new product development,” said Mr. Wolkoff. “These two promotions will add depth and experience to the Amex’s senior management team.”
