American Stock Exchange Announces Addition To The Executive Management Team

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) announced today that Antoine Shagoury has been appointed executive vice president and chief information officer.

As executive vice president and chief information officer, Mr. Shagoury will assume responsibility for the development of Exchange technology. He will direct the Amex efforts to advance its corporate and trading technologies as well as be an important part of the business development, market structure, and strategic planning initiatives.

"Antoine's extensive technology and operational experience, and significant industry knowledge, will be a tremendous asset to the Exchange as it addresses the important technology and market structure changes related to an increasingly competitive environment,' said Salvatore F. Sodano, Amex chairman and chief executive officer.

Most recently, Mr. Shagoury served as a senior advisor to the Exchange on advanced trading technology and provided counsel on key operational and technology planning activities. Prior to joining the Amex, Mr. Shagoury served as CTO, Corporate Services, at Instinet Corporation responsible for corporate technology. In addition, he led the technology due-diligence, acquisition, and integration efforts throughout their strategic business development activities.
