Time/What:
Trading on the Amex will open at 11:00 am, following a memorial ceremony. At that time, trading will begin on all Amex-listed securities, Nasdaq-listed securities currently trading on the Amex, and all options and index products based on underlying Amex and Nasdaq securities. Options and index products based on underlying New York Stock Exchange-listed securities will begin trading with the opening of the NYSE.
Opening Bell Ceremony (10:45 - 11:00 a.m.)
- Amex Chairman and CEO, Salvatore Sodano, to make opening remarks
- Monsignor Harris of St. Vincent's Hospital to make remarks and lead a moment of silence
- Broadway singer, Erica MacLeod Mandell to sing God Bless America
- Amex trader Michael Pascuma, at age 93 is the oldest living active floor broker in the U.S. who also lost his son on 9/11, will ring the opening bell ten times in remembrance of the ten Amex members of the American Stock Exchange community who were lost that day. Family members of those who lost their lives on 9/11 will be in attendance.
- New York City Police Department Emergency Service Officers Charles Bell'accio and Robert Masucci, who were among the initial personnel to respond to the emergency call, and who escaped the collapse of the towers, will join us to pay tribute to the many heroes of September 11 and ring the closing bell
