The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that Alan C. Sobba, Director of the Office of External Affairs, will leave the Commission early next year.
Mr. Sobba joined the Commission in March 2002, as the first Director of the Commission’s newly created Office of External Affairs. As the Director, Mr. Sobba has been directly responsible for the Commission’s interaction with the Congress, other government agencies, the news media, and the public.
Prior to joining the Commission, Mr. Sobba was the Director of Government Relations and chief lobbyist for the Commissioner of Baseball, and before that he worked for the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.
Mr. Sobba received his undergraduate degree from Kansas State University, an MBA from Arizona State University, and his law degree from the University of Kansas law school.
