Alan Cameron To be Appointed To SFE Board

Alan Cameron has agreed to be proposed for appointment to the Board of the Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE) later this year. Mr Cameron will attend Board meetings forthwith as an observer prior to his formal appointment.

Mr Cameron served as Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and its predecessor the Australian Securities Commission from January 1993 to November 2000. Prior to 1993 he held the position of Commonwealth Ombudsman and, before that, he was the National Executive Partner of Blake Dawson Waldron, solicitors. Mr Cameron will also become a consultant with Arthur Andersen/Andersen Legal from 1 March 2001.
