The African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) is the premier association of exchanges in Africa, that was established with main objectives of (i) Unlocking the potential of African capital markets and (ii) Enhancing the development and global competitiveness of its member exchanges.
In so doing, ASEA hosts an annual capacity building initiative, the Building African Financial Markets (BAFM) Seminar. The BAFM Seminar is designed to equip players in the African financial markets with knowledge and skills on emerging issues within the financial services industry, so as to compete effectively on the global platform.
This year’s 9th Edition of the Seminar which is scheduled for March 22-23, 2020 in Cairo, Egypt by the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), has regrettably been postponed until further notice in light of the ongoing situation with the COVID-19 (coronavirus). Following measures taken worldwide and in accordance with those recommended by World Health Organization (WHO) related to travelling, the decision was arrived at after extensive consultations between the leaderships of ASEA and EGX. This move to postpone is in service of safeguarding the health and safety of all our stakeholders.
We will keep monitoring the situation and thereafter update you of the new dates set for the 9th BAFM Seminar.
