Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) participated in the 15th Conference of the International Association for Official Statistics (IAOS 2016) which was held from 6th to 8th December at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The Conference was held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and organized by the Abu Dhabi Statistics Center.
Rashed Al Blooshi, Chief Executive of ADX, spoke about ADX sponsorship of this important event which was attended by more than 500 senior officials and experts participants representing 40 countries, and in which various working papers related to the importance of statistics, were discussed.
ADX Chief Executive also spoke of the positive interaction between statistics, policy analysis, and decision making, and how statistics can aid decision making process by enabling us to create a benchmark and monitor and evaluate the progress of our goals or initiatives. Thus guaranteeing that goals are meeting initial aims and identifying any areas which require improvement.
The IAOS 2016 conference sought to provide a platform for the statistical community to share knowledge and boost key official statistics, develop capacity building, discuss the official statistics challenges and raise statistics awareness in the UAE and across the region.
