Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) CEO, Mr. Rashed Al Baloushi, partook in the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE) Annual Meeting held recently in Mexico City, Mexico.
During the WFE meetings, several sessions were held to discuss matters relating to economic policies and financial markets, regulations and rules applicable in equity markets, the emergence of Latin American stock exchanges as key players, the changing face of derivatives markets, and the financing of SMEs.
Commenting on his participation, Mr. Rashed Al Baloushi said:” ADX is very keen to have effective participation in all WFE activities in order to achieve fruitful cooperation between the member stock exchanges for the best interest of all of them.”
Al Baloushi stated that ADX membership in the WFE allows for the constant exchange of information and expertise in various fields with all the WFE member stock exchanges, which makes ADX more capable of continuing its contribution to the development of the capital sector in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
It is worth mentioning that ADX was the youngest stock exchange to be voted as a member of the organization in 2012. The membership of the World Federation of Exchanges reflects the commitment of member stock exchanges with the accepted international standards to allow attracting more investment.
The membership is also considered an important reference for many international investors about the investment environment in the member markets.
