The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), one of the fastest-growing exchange groups in the Middle East, marked World Investor Week with an opening bell-ringing ceremony and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the University of Europe for Applied Sciences’ Dubai campus.
As a multi-asset exchange, ADX is glad to support the 10th annual World Investor Week, a global campaign organized by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and supported by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). Running from 5 to 11 October, the World Investor Week focuses on strengthening financial awareness and investor protection across more than 100 jurisdictions.
The MOU agreement with the University of Europe for Applied Sciences reinforces ADX’s commitment and broader efforts to advance financial inclusion and make wealth generation more accessible.
The MOU was signed by Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) Group, and Prof. Dr. Maurits Van Rooijen, President of the University of Europe for Applied Sciences.
Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) Group, said: “As digital transformation reshapes global markets, equipping next-generation investors with financial and digital literacy is essential for economic resilience. Through our partnership with the University of Europe and our participation in World Investor Week, we are bringing practical market knowledge and analytical tools into the classroom, helping students evaluate risks and identify growth opportunities. By building the next generation of informed investors, Abu Dhabi’s capital markets are advancing the emirate’s Economic Vision 2030 and strengthening its position as a premier global financial hub.”
Professor Maurits van Rooijen, President of the University of Europe for Applied Sciences Campus Dubai, commented: At UE, we believe universities have a responsibility to connect knowledge with the challenges shaping our economies and societies. AI and growing global complexity are fundamentally changing financial markets. Our partnership with ADX brings academic expertise into direct dialogue with market practice, creating opportunities for applied research, innovation and, importantly, for preparing our students to help shape the future of the financial sector.”
Prof. Eman Abukhousa, Program Lead of AI and Data Science at the University of Europe for Applied Sciences Campus Dubai, said: “The strength of this partnership lies in combining ADX’s capital-market expertise and advanced infrastructure with UE’s research, AI and analytics capabilities and international academic network. Together, we can create a platform for applied research and responsible innovation that delivers lasting value for the UAE’s financial sector and beyond.”
As digital platforms reshape how financial information is created and shared, university students and retail investors must be able to assess investment opportunities, navigate increasingly complex trading environments and distinguish reliable market information from misinformation. The collaboration responds to this need by connecting academic learning with real-world market exposure.
Alongside its academic partnerships, the ADX offers an AI-powered market disclosures tool that makes technical information accessible and recently became the first MENA exchange to allow users to pull live market data into AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude. As a result, investors and students now have real-time access to official stock prices, corporate announcements, and financial disclosures through everyday natural language prompts.
