ACER Updates Its REMIT Data Reporting Guidance

Date 18/11/2022

The EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) published today updated guidance documents to help stakeholders in their reporting activities under REMIT.

The Regulation on Wholesale Energy Market Integrity and Transparency (REMIT) created an EU-wide framework that prohibits market manipulation and trading on inside information in wholesale energy markets.

The new version of the ACER REMIT Transaction Reporting User Manual, and its Annexes, further improves data reporting under REMIT.

ACER also updated its Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on REMIT transaction reporting. The new (14th) edition of the FAQ document provides additional reporting guidance on specific trading scenarios and practices.

In addition, ACER also published today the new version of the electronic format (version 3) for the reporting of REMIT Table 1 transactions. In order to reflect the changes in the new electronic format, the updated version of Manual of Procedures on Data Reporting, the ARIS Data Validation document, as well as the ARIS Data Validation Rules Configuration Document have also been published on ACER’s website.

Reporting parties are expected to comply with the updated transaction reporting guidance within six months of its publication (i.e. by mid-2023).

All documents are accessible via the new REMIT Knowledge Base.
