ACER Publishes Study On The Estimation Of The Cost Of Disruption Of Gas Supply

Date 14/12/2018

ACER releases today a study on the estimation of the Cost of Disruption of Gas Supply (CoDG) in Europe. ACER commissioned this study to KANTOR MANAGEMENT CONSULTANTS (KMC) and Economic Consulting Associates (ECA).

The study, which aims at improving the existing methodology regarding the monetisation of the benefits of enhanced security of gas supply via assessing the CoDG, is intended to provide:

a) input to the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG) and other parties in further quantifying the monetary impact of a disruption of gas supply, in the context of the application of the Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) methodology in the 10-Year Network Development Plan (TYNDP) and other CBA applications.

b) insights to NRAs and other parties, if involved, as to the calculation of compensation costs in the context of the solidarity mechanism according to the Commission Recommendation concerning measures to safeguard the security of gas supply (EU) 2018/177.
