A Change Of Guards At The Warsaw Stock Exchange

The General Meeting of the Warsaw Stock Exchange, convened on June 27, 2006, approved the Annual Report of the Management Board on Company activities and the 2005 financial statement of the WSE. It also granted discharge to the members of the WSE Management and Supervisory Boards, marking the end of Mr Wieslaw Rozlucki 15 years tenure as the Exchange President.

Mr Wieslaw Rozlucki was the WSE President from its inception in 1991. In March he announced that he would not seek re-election, nevertheless, intends to continue working on developing Polish capital and financial markets.

During the General Meeting, a letter from the Minister of State Treasury (the WSE major stakeholder) was read thanking Mr Rozlucki for his services rendered as the WSE President and his significant contribution to the re-creation and development of the Polish capital market.

As of June 28, 2006 Mr Ludwik Sobolewski takes over as the new President of the Warsaw Stock Exchange Management Board. He was elected to the post of the WSE President by the Extraordinary General Meeting held on May 8, 2006. Prior to the current appointment, Mr Sobolewski was the Executive Vice President of the National Depository for Securities (from 1994).

In his new capacity, Mr Sobolewski is seconded by three members of the Management Board, elected on June 2, 2006 by the Exchange Supervisory Board: Ms Lidia Adamska (formerly director of the WSE Strategic Planning Department), Mr Adam Maciejewski (formerly director of the WSE Trading and Market Development Department) and Ms Beata Jarosz (formerly director of the Enforcement Department – the Polish Securities and Exchange Commission).
