The order-book statistics of Deutsche Börse, which are based on single counting of all transactions in the order book of Xetra® and on the trading floor, show equities turnover of 97.5 billion euros for all German stock exchanges in June. Of this total, 87 billion euros were traded in German equities, with 72.4 billion euros (roughly 83 percent) posted through Xetra, and some 11 billion euros (about 12 percent) in trading on the floor of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. About 90 percent of the volume in the DAX blue chips was traded on Xetra, and on some days was as high as 98 percent. Xetra set a new record in the Nemax 50 stocks with about 58.2 percent of the total traded in this segment. Xetra also set new records in the MDAX stocks with almost 55 percent of the turnover, and in the SDAX with 26 percent of the volume traded.
Deutsche Telekom was the most active DAX blue chip in June, with volume of about 12.5 billion euros traded in its shares. MLP was the leading MDAX stock, with 170 million euros in shares traded, and Comdirect was the top Neuer Markt stock with share turnover of 825 million euros. In the SMAX segment, TFG AG ranked first with a volume of 48 million euros traded in its shares.
