23 New Companies To Oslo Børs First Six Months

Date 29/06/2005

The first six months of 2005, the Board of Oslo Børs has resolved to admit shares in 23 companies to be listed. As of today, 20 of these companies are listed. Except for the first six months in 1997, Oslo Børs has never listed such a high number of companies within a six month period. The new companies represent a wide range of sectors, primarily energy, offshore, technology and finance.

In 2004 Oslo Børs listed a total of 22 companies, while 10 was delisted. So far in 2005 six companies have been delisted. The number of new listings the last 18 months is a result of several factors, including a positive development in the Norwegian private sector. Many Norwegian companies have experienced growth and progress which have made it natural to go public.

For Norway as a nation, it is undoubtedly positive that many Norwegian companies provide good results, make investments and contribute to employment and welfare, says President & CEO at Oslo Børs Sven Arild Andersen .

Oslo Børs has continued the trend from 2004 with strong growth in number of listings. At Stockholmsbörsen and Helsinki Stock Exchange there have been three listings on each exchange, and just one at Copenhagen Stock Exchange in the same period.

The following companies have been listed at Oslo Børs so far in 2005
