2.2 Billion Euros In XTF Turnover In November. Deutsche Börse European Market Leader With XTF /Index Fund On DAX Highest-Volume ETF Product In Europe/More Information For Investors At New Internet Site

Date 11/12/2001

Volume of some 2.2 billion euros was traded in XTF, Deutsche Börse's stock exchange segment for index funds and actively managed funds, in November. Thus, turnover in this segment remained at its same high level (October: 2.3 billion euros). Of the total traded in the XTF segment, 2.1 billion euros, or approximately 96 percent, was posted in index funds, some four percent in actively managed funds. Deutsche Börse's XTF segment is the European market leader in exchange-traded funds, with a market share of about 50 percent.

In the index fund on the DAX (DAX EX), 1.32 billion euros in volume was traded in November. The DAX EX thus showed an increase in volume of three percent against the previous month (October 1.28 billion euros); it is the highest-volume ETF in Europe, with a European market share of 31 percent.

An expanded range of information for the XTF segment has been available on the Internet at www.xtf.de since early December. The new Web site includes additional information and analysis tools like fund selectors, most-active lists and portraits of all XTF funds. The fund selector helps investors find the fund that fits their individual investment strategy quickly and easily. All funds are sorted by sector and region, for example, and their performance can be compared. Detailed information is provided by the respective fund profiles: key data, share prices, charts, indicative net asset values, fund composition as well as current fund reports.

There are 18 index funds and 11 actively managed equity funds listed in the XTF market segment. There are no loads for the purchase of fund shares through the stock exchange; all the investor has to pay are the usual transaction costs for the purchase and sale of securities. Investors can buy the shares through any bank that offers trading in equities.

Roughly 98 percent of the volume traded in fund products in Germany is posted through Xetra, which means that all of the main trading parameters from equities trading are also valid for XTF. These include continuous trading, auctions, a minimum lot of one fund share as well as Designated Sponsors who provide for liquidity. .
