2.1 Billion Euros In XTF Turnover In April - XTF Is European Leader With Roughly 70 Percent Market Share - New Record In Average Daily Turnover On Xetra - Index Funds On DAX And Dow Jones Euro Stoxx Highest-Volume Products

Turnover in XTF, Deutsche Börse's market segment for exchange-traded index funds and actively managed funds, rose about 9.5 percent in April, to 2.1 billion euros. Of this total, 93 percent was traded in index funds and 7 percent in actively managed funds. Deutsche Börse's share of the European market in exchange-traded funds increased to roughly 70 percent in April, as compared with 63.6 percent in March 2001. Deutsche Börse is thus continuing to expand its position as Europe's most successful market for trading in exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Average daily turnover in index funds on Xetra set a new record with 106.5 million euros (previous record: 98.8 million euros in January 2001). The highest-volume product is the index-tracker fund on the DAX, DAXEX, in which a total volume of some 1.5 billion euros was traded in April. Ranking second and third were the index funds on the Dow Jones Euro Stoxx 50, with turnover of just under 230 million and 208 million euros, respectively. The DAXEX ranked 13 among the most heavily traded DAX securities on Xetra in April.
