  • The Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index rose 7.41% in December, closing at 177.06. Year-to-date, the index is up 1.97%.
December 2010 Sector Winners and Losers
  • In the U.S., the Dow Jones U.S. Financials Index was the biggest winner in December, posting a 10.15% gain. The Dow Jones U.S. Consumer Services Index posted the narrowest gain, up 3.38%.
  • In Europe, the Dow Jones Europe Oil & Gas Index posted the biggest gain, climbing 10.85%. The Dow Jones Europe Telecommunications Index had the narrowest gain, up 4.19%.
  • In Asia, the Dow Jones Asia/Pacific Basic Materials Index posted the biggest gain, rising 9.36%. The Dow Jones Asia/Pacific Telecommunications Index posted the narrowest gain, up 1.81%.
  • Globally, the Dow Jones World Basic Resources Titans Index had the best performance, climbing 10.48%. The Dow Jones World Travel & Leisure Titans Index posted the narrowest gain, up 2.63%.

  • In the U.S., the Dow Jones U.S. Basic Materials Index was the biggest winner in 2010, posting a 28.52% gain. The Dow Jones U.S. Health Care Index posted the narrowest gain, up 2.93%.
  • In Europe, the Dow Jones Europe Consumer Goods Index posted the biggest gain, climbing 17.55%. The Dow Jones Europe Utilities Index had the sharpest decline, falling 15.68%.
  • In Asia, the Dow Jones Asia/Pacific Industrials Index posted the biggest gain, rising 19.94%. The Dow Jones Asia/Pacific Utilities Index posted the narrowest gain, up 6.01%.
  • Globally, the Dow Jones World Automobiles & Parts Titans Index had the best performance, climbing 30.26%. The Dow Jones World Utilities Titans Index posted the biggest loss, dropping 8.74%.
