19th Annual Options Conference To Take Place In Tucson, Arizona

Date 28/03/2001

The conference, which is jointly sponsored by the American Stock Exchange, the Chicago Board Options Exchange, the International Securities Exchange, the Pacific Exchange and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, is expected to draw more than 500 options industry executives. The conference is being hosted this year by the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX).

Panel discussions slated for the three-day event will include the following topics: quality of execution, single stock futures, technology's influence on the marketplace, Securities and Exchange Commission mandates, and an overview of the future of the options industry facilitated by leaders of the five options exchanges.

"The options industry is growing and changing at record speed. This annual conference always serves as the premiere forum for the industry to discuss the evolution of the market," said Meyer "Sandy" Frucher, chairman and CEO of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.

Registration fees for the conference are waived for members of the media. There will be a press room on-site equipped with phones and computer hook-ups.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange, founded in 1790 shortly after America declared its independence from England, is redefining the options market in the 21st century. The Exchange's market share has almost doubled year-over-year in the PHLX's 948 listed equity options and 10 sector indexes, which are supported by advanced trading technology. The PHLX, whose members include the largest, best capitalized specialist firms in the global equity derivatives market, is the fastest growing U.S. options exchange.
