NYSE Group, Inc. today announced that15 iShares exchange traded funds transferred from the American Stock Exchange and are now listed on NYSE Arca. As the largest exchange for ETF trading, NYSE Arca continues to expand its presence in the ETF market with the addition of these primary ETF listings.
Like other securities listed on NYSE Arca, a Lead Market Maker has been assigned to each of these ETFs bringing together the speed and efficiency of an all-electronic market with the added value of a dedicated liquidity provider. In addition to these ETFs, 4 additional iShares Funds and one grantor trust are scheduled for transfer to NYSE Arca in the near future.
Including today’s new listings, NYSE Group will have 131 primary ETF listings, 90 of which are iShares. Combined with the ETFs trading on an unlisted trading privilege basis (UTP), the NYSE Group handled 43% of all ETF shares traded in the U.S. market, the largest exchange liquidity pool for ETF trading through third-quarter 2006.
