Final 1999 Trading Volume, IPOs Star At The NYSE
The New York Stock Exchange set records in 1999 for trading volume and initial public offerings, listing more than 94 percent of the year's qualified domestic IPOs. The Exchange this year reached record trading levels on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis. Average daily trading volume was a record 809.2 million shares1, a 20.1 percent increase over last year's 673.6 million share average. 1999: Amsterdam Exchanges Looks Back On A Good Year
Despite gloomy predictions, 1999 turned out to be a good year for Amsterdam Exchanges. Once again the AEX index broke record after record. In contrast to many expectations, this rally chiefly occurred in December, just before the changeover to the new millennium. The AEX index finally closed on 30 December at 671.41 points, its highest closing price ever.

Irish Stock Exchange And Deutsche Börse Announce Strategic Alliance - Deutsche Börse Acts As Systems Provider Offering Outsourcing Opportunities
The Irish Stock Exchange (ISE) and Deutsche Börse have signed a Letter of Intent to form an alliance under which Deutsche Börse would provide the ISE with electronic trading facilities, whereby the ISE will run its market on a special segment of the Xetra trading platform. Hang Seng 100 Futures Set Volume Record
The Hong Kong Futures Exchange (HKFE) has announced that Hang Seng 100 Futures volume rose to an all-time high of 1,189 contracts today, breaking the previous record of 821 contracts set on 28 April 1999. Hang Seng 100 Futures and Options were introduced in September 1998.

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), yesterday announced total 1999 year-end volume of 254,561,215 contracts, marking six consecutive years CBOT topped 200 million contracts. December trading volume was 13,938,312.
