Tokyo Commodity Exchange's Rubber Hits New Record High Since Listing

Tokyo Commodity Exchange, Inc. April 2010 rubber futures contract temporarily hit 412.1 yen/kilogram during today’s session. This is a new high of the nearest contract month, breaking the 30-year record of 386.8 yen/kilogram set in February 13, 1980, when the contract reached its highest price since its listing on December 12, 1952 at the then Tokyo Rubber Exchange.

FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index experienced quarter-on-quarter fall in share price for 12 out of the 18 publically listed exchanges. The Index*, which aims to reflect market sentiment and is a key indicator of exchanges performance, saw a 4.3 per cent decrease for Q1, 2010 compared to Q4, 2009.

PLUS Announces Good Q1 Trading Activity - Volumes Continue Increasing With Record Trade Value Reported

The PLUS stock exchange posted its first quarter trading activity showing positive gains year-on-year. From January to March this year, reported flow on the exchange reached 1,646,147 bargains. Volumes reached 20.90 billion shares, an increase of 26.04% from the same period last year, while trade value rose 33.21% to £16.63 billion against 2009.

UK's Financial Services Authority Fines And Bans Patel And Chhabra For Repeated Market Abuse

Sameer Patel and Robin Chhabra have today been fined £180,541 and £95,000 respectively for market abuse by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). Patel’s penalty included disgorgement of the profits he made through market abuse. The FSA has also banned both men from working in the financial services industry.
