FINRA And NYSE Euronext Complete Agreement For FINRA To Perform NYSE Regulation's Market Oversight Functions
NYSE Euronext (NYSE: NYX) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) today announced that they have completed the previously announced agreement under which FINRA will assume responsibility for performing the market surveillance and enforcement functions currently conducted by NYSE Regulation. The agreement is effective immediately.

CFTC Denies OCC Rule Amendment
The Commodity Futures Trading commission (CFTC) today issued a Notice of Non-Approval of a rule amendment submitted by the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC). The OCC rule amendment would have treated foreign currency contracts where the exercise price is fixed at a nominal amount, such as one cent, as securities options, provided that the CFTC took the position that such contracts may be traded and cleared as such. TMX Group’s Montréal Exchange To Launch Futures Contract On Canadian Heavy Crude Oil
Montréal Exchange Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of TMX Group and Canada’s national derivatives exchange, today announced that it will launch a futures contract on Canadian heavy crude oil. The new crude oil futures contract will be based on the price of Western Canadian Select (WCS), the benchmark for heavy crude oil in Canada. The contract will be listed for trading on the Montréal Exchange’s SOLA® electronic platform on June 18, 2010 with the symbol WCH.
