Strategic Appointments At The Montreal Exchange - New Management Committee In Place

The Montreal Exchange is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Philippe Loumeau as Senior Executive Vice-President, Marketing, Business Development and Strategy. Mr. Loumeau was Executive Vice-President of ParisBourse SBF SA, responsible for business strategy and international alliances. He previously worked in various areas related to the strategic and business development of the Matif and ParisBourse. Holder of a Masters degree in Economics, Mr. Loumeau will begin his new role at the Montreal Exchange on August 1st.

The Montreal Exchange is growing rapidly, and Mr. Loumeau's expertise will contribute significantly to our strategic and competitive positioning both nationally and internationally", said Luc Bertrand, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Montreal Exchange.

Mr. Loumeau's appointment completes the senior management committee put in place by Luc Bertrand, comprising of Giovanni Giarrusso, Senior Executive Vice-President, Markets; Louise Laflamme, Senior Vice-President, Finance, Human Resources and Administration; and René Millette, who recently accepted the position of Chief of Strategy and Information Technology. Mr. Millette is a mathematician with a Masters degree in Applied Mathematics from Queen's University. He has worked in various areas of information technology, and recently led the Y2K team at Parisbas bank of France.

The new management team is supported by Léon Bitton, Vice-President, Research and Development, Rosanna Teti, Vice-President, Business Solutions, Information Technology; Richard Bourbonnière, Vice-President, Floor Operations; and Jacques Tanguay, Vice-President, Member Regulation.
