Getronics, Gucci And UPC As Of 21 February In AEX-index

In accordance with the rules of the Amsterdam Exchanges-index and the Amsterdam Midkap-index both indices are reweighted annually in the month of February. The adjustments for the Amsterdam Exchanges-index as of Monday, 21 February 2000 are as follows under the condition that no mergers, takeovers, ending of the official listing etc. take place in the interim period: The stocks Océ, KLM and Buhrmann will be removed from the Amsterdam Exchanges-index. The stocks Getronics, United Pan Europe Communications (UPC) and Gucci will enter the Amsterdam Exchanges-index. The adjustments for the Amsterdam Midkap-index as of Monday, 21 February 2000 are as follows: The stocks Getronics, Koninklijke Ahrend and AOT will be removed from the Amsterdam Midkap-index. The stocks Libertel, Océ, KLM, Versatel, CMG, Buhrmann and Cap Gemini SA will enter the Amsterdam Midkap-index. The weights for the constituent stocks will be calculated as at the close of business on Friday 18 February 2000 on the basis of the market capitalisation. In accordance with article 1.8 of the ground rules for the Amsterdam Exchanges-index and the Amsterdam Midkap-index two corrections on the weights will be apllied. Correction factors will be applied on the weights of Gucci and Libertel for the percentage of capitalisation held in fixed hands, standing at 85% and 75% respectively. This means that only 15% and 25% respectively of the full weight will be applied at the determination of the weighting factors of Gucci and Libertel. These correction factors are applied under rule 1.8 of the indices ground rules, and are calculated using information obtained from the Securities Board of the Netherlands (STE) in accordance with the Investment Disclosure Act.
