TSX Group Chief Information Officer, John Cieslak, To Step Down - Brenda Hoffman Named As Successor

Richard Nesbitt, CEO of TSX Group Inc. today announced that after nearly seven years with the organization, John Cieslak, Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer and Chief Administration Officer of TSX Group, will be stepping down from his position effective April 30, 2007. Mr. Nesbitt said, “John has done a tremendous job of leading the technology function at TSX – he and his team have brought our technology platform to a level that is second to none. His foresight, technical expertise and excellent management skills have resulted in the creation of the outstanding trading technology we offer today. He is well respected for his expertise, both within TSX Group and with his peer group. John has built a great team and it is as a result of this that he now feels it is time for him to dedicate more time to other business opportunities and board engagements.”

Since joining TSX Group in July, 2000 Mr. Cieslak and the team he assembled have implemented a new technology platform and have developed a comprehensive technology strategy for moving forward. Mr. Cieslak said “I have enjoyed my work with TSX. I am proud of our achievements. We have a proven team in place and there will be a smooth transition to my successor. I am confident that I am leaving TSX in good hands.”

Mr. Nesbitt also announced the appointment of Brenda Hoffman to the position of Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of TSX Group, effective April 30, 2007. Mr. Nesbitt said “Brenda is the clear successor for the CIO position at TSX Group. She has been a key player with TSX Technologies since joining the organization in January, 2001 and most recently led the development teams responsible for TSXPress™ (an innovative series of enhancements on the current trading system aimed at optimizing execution speeds for algorithmic traders) and TSX Group’s new equities trading engine.”

Ms. Hoffman is currently Vice President, Development and is a member of TSX Group’s Senior Management Team.
