However "teguchi" information, which is information on the accumulated number of shares of each issue bought and sold by each trading participant, is provided only to TSE trading participants as such information is likely to create confusion and misunderstanding among investors, especially individuals.
Under these circumstances the above situation was discussed in TSE's Market Structure Committee, which is an advisory body to TSE's board of directors, from the viewpoints of "fairness of information", "strengthening of market function", "goal of transparency", "attracting new individual investors" and "consistencies with major foreign exchanges".
As a result, TSE has decided to expand its bid/offer quote information to the 5 best bid/offer quotes and to discontinue the provision of teguchi information. This revision is scheduled for June 2003.
