Thai Bourse’s “Opportunity Day” Viewers Jump To Record High

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announced the success of Opportunity Day events for financial performance in 2012, which could attract a total of 90,000 viewers from webcasts, smart phones and iPads. In 2012, the number of viewers jumped by 80 percent to an all-time high from financial performance in 2011. To boost the information access channel, SET will test its app “OppDay” on Android at the next its quarterly "Opportunity Day", when top management of listed companies meet directly with analysts and investors.
 
SET Senior Vice President Paveena Sriphothong said: “There are 122 listed companies joining in the first Opportunity Day event of this year, on February 18 - March 28, with a combined market capitalization of about THB 6 trillion, gaining 90,000 viewers from 124 countries such as Australia, China, Japan, Singapore, and USA.”
 
“The increasing numbers of Opportunity Day viewers is partly due to the successful launch of the OppDay application on iPad in September last year. Gaining higher popularity, the app OppDay on iPad currently attracts up to 13,500 viewers. At present, SET is developing the OppDay application on Android, which is expected to be launched officially by the end of this year,” Paveena added.
 
As of March 25, 2013, the top ten companies having the highest viewers on Opportunity Days through live webcasts were SPCG pcl (SPCG), SNC Former pcl (SNC), Advanced Info Service pcl (ADVANC), Sansiri pcl (SIRI), Hydrotek pcl (HYDRO), OfficeMate pcl (OFM), Thaicom pcl (THCOM), Shin Corporation pcl (INTUCH), Panjawattana Plastic pcl (PJW), and Asia Aviation pcl (AAV).
 
So far there have been over 50,000 downloads of OppDay” on iPad, containing useful information of listed companies as presented on factsheets, such as business performance and up-to-date key statistics, latest annual reports, and event calendars presenting corporate actions.
