The top five security futures products by volume in October were General Electric (GE1C) with 5,420 contracts traded, Altria Group Inc. (MO1C) 5,201, SBC Communications (SBC1C) 5,058, DIAMONDS® Exchange Traded Fund (DIA1C) 4,641 and PeopleSoft (PSFT1C) with 4,278.
Each contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock or exchange-traded fund.
The Exchange now has a total of 109 products: 94 single stock futures, including futures on the DIAMONDS Trust, and 15 futures on the Dow Jones MicroSector IndexesSM.
