NYBOT Board Of Directors Appointed - Fred W. Hatfield Joins Board

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace and soft commodities exchange, announced today the appointment of a new Board of Directors for the New York Board of Trade. The NYBOT board is made up of independent directors, members of management and representatives to the ICE Board of Directors.

Sprecher. “This is a group of leaders committed to the governance and proper operation of NYBOT’s regulated markets. To that end, we welcome Fred Hatfield who, as a former CFTC Commissioner, is a valuable addition to the board. My colleagues and I look forward to working with the entire NYBOT board as we manage our operations and plan for the future.”

The NYBOT Board Members include:

  • Fred W. Schoenhut, Chairman. Schoenhut continues as Chairman of the Board and has joined the ICE Board of Directors.

  • Richard V. Spencer, Vice Chairman. Spencer is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of IntercontinentalExchange, Inc.

  • Terrence F. Martell, PH.D., Vice Chairman. Martell was a Public Member of the previous NYBOT Board of Governors, and also recently joined the ICE board. Martell is a Saxe Distinguished Professor of Finance and Director of the Weissman Center for International Business at Baruch College in New York City.

  • Maxine Champion. Champion was a Public Member of the previous NYBOT Board of Governors. She is President and Founder of Champion Strategies, a corporate advisory firm in the area of communications and government relations in Washington, DC.

  • Christopher A. Dunn. Dunn was a Public Member of the previous NYBOT Board of Governors. He is a partner at Vinson & Elkins in Washington, DC, representing clients in international trade matters and in actions before the World Trade Organization.

  • Thomas W. Farley. Farley is the past President of SunGard’s Kiodex business unit, and is the newly appointed President and Chief Operating Officer of NYBOT, effective February 20, 2007.

  • Fred W. Hatfield. Hatfield served as a Commissioner of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) through December 2006 and was Chief of Staff to Sen. John Breaux prior to his CFTC service. He recently joined Patton Boggs LLP as a Senior Public Policy Advisor in Washington, DC.

  • Hugh R. Lamle. Lamle was a Public Member of the previous NYBOT Board of Governors. Mr. Lamle is president of M.D. Sass Investors Services, Inc., and affiliated companies, an investment management firm.

  • Jeffrey C. Sprecher. Sprecher is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IntercontinentalExchange, Inc.
