New listings
- There were three times as many new listings in 2021 as in 2020.
- Most were IPOs - whose market cap on regulated markets (RMs) was roughly four times that of the previous year - followed by direct listings.
- The number of newly listed companies increased in all selected industry sectors. The largest share of newly listed companies was in the industrials sector, followed closely by technology.
Delistings
- The number of companies delisting increased on both RMs and multi-lateral trading facilities (MTFs).
- Company wind-ups remained the most common delisting procedure on MTFs, while takeovers by non-listed companies was the most common precursor for delistings on RMs in 2021.
Total listed companies
- In 2021, Spain was the country of incorporation for the largest number of listed companies, followed by Sweden, Poland, France and Germany.
- The largest market cap of all listings at the end of 2021 was recorded by companies in the financial sector, followed by industrials.
