The PIX Index likewise reached another record high of 2,577 points, rising by 6.3 per cent since Friday, more than ever before in its entire history. In 2002 alone, the PIX Index went up by 66 per cent.
Prices of securities at the Ljubljana Stock Exchange continued to rise; most of shares on the official market increased in value by several per cent, and optimistic atmosphere among the investors influenced also the free market. A record-breaking 2,789 transactions were registered, which was the best result of the year. At 11 a.m. today, trading in shares of Lek was resumed, following the Friday publication of information on possible negotiations on tender for redemption of all of Lek shares by an unknown party, on the SEOnet web pages and in the daily newspaper Delo. A 10 per cent restriction in price movements of LEKA and LEKB shares had been also removed temporarily, until a new official price was to be formed. Common LEKA shares finally reached the value of SIT 90,481.10 per item, with a rather substantial daily turnover, while preference LEKB shares climbed to SIT 100,000.00.
