NASDAQ Announces End-Of-Month Open Short Interest Positions In NASDAQ Stocks As Of Settlement Date March 31, 2011

At the end of the settlement date of March 31, 2011, short interest in 2,340 NASDAQ Global MarketSM securities totaled 6,281,450,253 shares compared with 6,201,411,112 shares in 2,346 Global Market issues reported for the prior settlement date of March 15, 2011. The end-of-March short interest represents 3.19 days average daily NASDAQ Global Market share volume for the reporting period, compared with 3.10 days for the prior reporting period.

Short interest in 502 securities on The NASDAQ Capital MarketSM totaled 386,773,576 shares at the end of the settlement date of March 31, 2011 compared with 361,807,257 shares in 496 securities for the previous reporting period. This represents 3.08 days average daily volume, compared with the previous reporting period's figure of 3.32.
