Nowadays, most listed companies provide their shareholders with corporate information and advertisements through their Internet websites or emails. Given the fact that the website or email is one of the most popular sources of useful information for investment and representations on them greatly affect investment decisions, the KSE encourages listed companies to provide as much information as possible.
In doing so, however, listed companies can unintentionally violate the securities related laws and regulations. This guideline is prepared to help listed companies conducting their cyber disclosure activities without causing any unexpectied legal infringement.
The KSE expects the guideline would contribute to protecting both investors and the listed companies, and thus eventually improving the integrity of Korea stock market.
Since the adoption of the guideline is not mandatory, the listed companies can modify it given their conditions and circumstances. It becomes effective from May 1, 2003.
The KSE holds a seminar on the guideline in the International Conference Hall of Kse on April 29-30.
