FIA today announced that 15 companies have been chosen to exhibit in the FIA Innovators Pavilion at the 34th Annual Futures & Options Expo, which will take place in Chicago on Oct. 16-18.
The FIA Innovators Pavilion, now in its fourth year, gives fintech startups the chance to connect with more than 4,500 people at the largest gathering of derivatives industry professionals in the world. To date, 57 fintech companies have participated in this annual showcase, representing developments in a range of areas from machine learning and natural language processing to cryptocurrency trading and distributed ledger technology. These firms were selected through a competitive application process and chosen by a panel of industry experts from venture capital companies and FIA member firms.
The companies selected for this year's event will each be given a TechPod on the Expo show floor to display their products and services. FIA will also host a "Meet the Innovators" competition to spotlight five companies within the Pavilion. The winner of this competition will receive more than $20,000 in marketing support, cash and other resources and be named the FIA Innovator of the Year 2018.
"I'm proud to announce the 2018 class of FIA Innovators," said Matt Haraburda of XR Trading, chairman of the Innovators Pavilion selection committee and executive committee member of the FIA Principal Traders Group. "We had a strong pool of qualified applicants from all over the world. The companies chosen to participate are offering innovative services in a wide range of areas, including data analytics, peer-to-peer trading systems, new types of commodity derivatives, and institutional-grade compliance tools for the cryptocurrency markets."
