CBOT: Agricultural, Dow Futures a/c/e Volume Records

Continuing to establish volume records, Chicago Board of Trade agricultural products set four new volume highs on the a/c/e trading system during the July 11 session, and a new record at 1,395 was set in the CBOT® DowSMJones Industrial Average futures on July 12 (the old high was 1,379 set March 14, 2001).

The total of agricultural contracts traded, including futures and options, set a new record at 6,569 contracts; the previous high was 4,382 set July 10, 2001.

The total number of agricultural futures traded established a new record at 6,321, eclipsing the previous high 4,379 also set July 10, 2001.

Trade in corn futures posted a new high at 4,483, topping the previous record 2,628 set July 10, 2001.

And soybean futures trade set a new record at 1,392, surpassing the old high of 1,260 set September 5, 2000.
