As required by the Corporations Act, ASX is licensed to operate a market in securities, derivatives and managed investments, among other things, and the Act also requires the regulator to assess on an annual basis whether the obligations imposed by the licence have been adequately met.
The ASIC assessment released today endorses ASX’s fulfilment of its obligations.
In addition, the assessment makes a number of useful observations and recommendations with regard to future developments. Most of these have already been addressed and ASX expects to finalise its arrangements shortly.
