Woodruff-Sawyer & Co. and Carpenter Moore Insurance Services, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ), today announced that Woodruff-Sawyer has acquired the Western region direct practice of Carpenter Moore from NASDAQ OMX. The Western region direct practice, based in San Francisco, encompasses its established directors & officers insurance business with more than 60 clients based primarily on the West coast. The combination of Woodruff-Sawyer and the Western region practice does not include Carpenter Moore's Eastern region practice, based in New York. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
As part of the transaction, Susan Miner of Carpenter Moore will join the firm as a Senior Director in its Corporate and Executive Protection Practice. Ms. Miner, an executive liability expert and a 20-year industry veteran, will reunite with former Carpenter Moore executives Lauri Floresca and Norman Allen, who joined Woodruff-Sawyer last month.

Ms. Miner has nearly 20 years of industry experience. Most recently she was Vice Chairman of Carpenter Moore where she focused on client service and new business development. Prior to Carpenter Moore she worked at Intel's R&D division, and later as a product manager for Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. Susan's education includes two engineering degrees and a Masters thesis from California Institute of Technology.
