In November 2009, the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) ranked first among stock exchanges in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and South-Eastern Europe (SEE) by capitalisation of local companies. The WSE is ahead of the Vienna Stock Exchange in terms of the cumulative value of trading in stocks of local issuers since April 2009.
The Federation of European Securities Exchanges (FESE) report for January-November 2009 confirms the leading position of the Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) in the region of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and South-Eastern Europe (SEE). The capitalisation of local companies on the WSE was EUR 102.6 billion at the end of November 2009; the value of trading on the WSE in the reporting period (January-November 2009) was EUR 37.5 billion (single-counted).
