On 19 December 2012 at the offices of the Warsaw Stock Exchange representatives of the WSE and Gazeta Giełdy Parkiet signed a strategic memorandum of understanding. The ceremony gathered Mr Ludwik Sobolewski, President and CEO of the WSE; Mr Grzegorz Hajdarowicz, President of the Management Board of Wydawnictwo Presspublica; and Mr Jakub Kurasz, Editor in Chief of GG Parkiet.
The objective of the memorandum of understanding is co-operation of both entities in the area of enhancing the quality of knowledge and information of capital market participants, in particular investors, and improving access to information about the Polish capital market by means of state-of-the-art communication technologies. This helps to ensure an adequate level of information governance on the Polish capital market.
The efforts of the Exchange and the daily newspaper Parkiet will also focus on improving the quality of knowledge about listed companies among investors and promotion of the capital market as a fundamental source of capital for Polish companies.
All joint initiatives will be pursued through synergies arising from the shared goals of both entities focusing on improvement of the quality of knowledge of Polish capital market participants and widening the group of exchange investors, in particular individual investors.
“The memorandum of understanding signed today fits perfectly into the educational activities pursued by the Warsaw Stock Exchange for many years. I hope that the synergies arising from the shared goals of our institution and GG Parkiet in promotion of knowledge-based investment on the Polish capital market will produce a new quality to the benefit of all market participants. I also hope that the partnership format will interest other media which define and pursue a mission of providing capital market participants with specialised information and opinions at the top professional level,” said Ludwik Sobolewski, President and CEO of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
“For more than 18 years, Gazeta Giełdy Parkiet has been a partner of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. This is a very close symbiosis as demonstrated by today’s memorandum of understanding. It is our overarching objective to provide reliable information about the capital market and offer thorough education to investors. We also pursue the Polish raison d’état by strengthening the Polish exchange in Europe,” said Presspublica President Grzegorz Hajdarowicz.
