No less than three companies entered by the Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW) for the European Small and Mid-Cap Awards, organised by FESE (Federation of European Securities Exchanges) and European Issuers in partnership with the European Commission, have been shortlisted for the Awards among 12 companies in four categories.
The Polish companies have been shortlisted in three categories:
- Alumetal- Best New Listed Company
- LiveChat Software - Most Internationally-Minded Newcomer 2015
- Selvita - Rising Star 2015
The issuers listed on GPW are the only companies from Central and Eastern Europe to be shortlisted for the Awards.
The European Small and Mid-Cap Awards, now in their third year, were launched in order to promote the best practices and success stories of companies listed on European stock markets. The Awards promote the most dynamic small and medium-sized European listed companies and encourage them to raise funding on the capital markets. Small and medium-sized companies are critical to European economic recovery and to accomplishing competitiveness. The European Small and Mid-Cap Awards were opened only to those companies whose IPOs (initial public offerings) took place in 2013-2014. Furthermore, the capitalisation of companies entered for the Awards was capped at EUR 1 billion at the IPO date.
The winners in all categories will be selected by an independent jury of representatives of the mass media, universities, European businesses and asset managers. The winners in all four categories will be presented at an award ceremony in Brussels on 9 December 2015.
