Value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 3,957.74 million (LE 22,862.69 million), of which shares, bonds and funds represented 71.65%, 28.35% and 0.00%, respectively. Unlisted securities i.e. Over the Counter trading reached US$ 220.98 million (LE 1,276.55 million), which represents 5.29% of total value traded for the month. Additionally, Nilex has recorded a trading value of US$ 2.24 million (LE 12.92 million) during the month.
This is in comparison to September 2010, when value traded of listed securities amounted to US$ 3,636.66 million (LE 20,708.95 million), of which shares represented 69.91%, bonds 30.09% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to 339.40 million (LE 1,932.72 million) i.e. 8.53% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading), which reached US$ 3,980 million (LE 22,664.13 million). Additionally, Nilex has recorded a trading value of US$ 3.94 million (LE 22.45 million) during the month.
Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 2,719.70 million securities. Meanwhile, the total volume traded of the OTC market has reached 191.84 million securities. Nilex has recorded a trading volume of 1.51 million securities.
During October 2010, 865,151 transactions were concluded with an average of 43,258 trades per day, as opposed to 718,455 transactions and an average of 35,923 trades per day in September 2010.
Indices
EGX 30 index, the official market index, witnessed an increase of 0.54% in October 2010 to reach 6670.34 points and witnessed a YoY decrease of 4.25%.
Meanwhile, EGX 70 price index witnessed an increase of 1.16% in October 2010 to reach 668.24 points and witnessed a YoY decrease of 16.34%.
Moreover, EGX 100 price index witnessed an increase of 1.21% in October 2010 to reach 1090.39 points and witnessed a YoY decrease of 13.46%.
Additionally, the Dow Jones EGX Egypt Titans 20 index witnessed an increase of 0.32% in October, to close at 1429.91 points on 31/10/2010 and witnessed a YoY decrease of 1.25%.
