Dr Michael Völter, Member of the Management Board of SV Sparkassen Versicherung Holding AG, and Dr Manfred Pumbo, Head of Group Controlling at Wüstenrot & Württembergische AG, have been elected as new members of the Supervisory Board for the companies at the Stuttgart Stock Exchange. The elections of new members of the Supervisory Board of Boerse Stuttgart Holding GmbH, Boerse Stuttgart AG and of Euwax AG had become necessary after the death of Dr Jan Wittig and the resignation of Hans-Peter Bruker. The other members of the Supervisory Board are Horst Marschall, Thomas Munz and Hans-Joachim Strüder.
Furthermore, the previous Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of Boerse Stuttgart Holding GmbH, Boerse Stuttgart AG and Euwax AG, Holger P. Härter, has resigned with immediate effect. The reason for this are the guidelines for appointments to the Boards decided by the new Board of Trustees of the association Vereinigung Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse e.V. These guidelines provide that only persons who are professionally engaged in the service of one of the association's members can be appointed to the Supervisory Board. Last year, after leaving Porsche AG, Holger P. Härter already resigned from his offices on the presiding committee and Board of Trustees of the association Vereinigung Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse e.V. However, as Chairperson of the Supervisory Board he did wish to take on responsibility for the entirety of the financial year of 2009.
"We thank all members of the Supervisory Board for their commitment, and their good ideas and suggestions for the Stuttgart Stock Exchange. We very much regret their departure. My particular thanks go to Mr Härter, who, in addition to his other heavy responsibilities over the years continued to act as Chairperson of the Supervisory Board. He is resigning after successfully accomplishing his mission, namely to restructure the Stock Exchange and make it fit for the future," said Thomas Munz, Member of the Board of Management of the association Vereinigung Baden-Wuerttembergische Wertpapierboerse e.V.
At today's Annual General Meeting of Euwax AG a tribute was paid to the accomplishments and achievements of Hans-Peter Bruker, Dr Jan Wittig and Holger P. Härter. Hans-Peter Bruker has made an important contribution to the success of the Stuttgart Stock Exchange. He was, for example, the first to introduce warrants to stock exchange trading, is the founder of Euwax AG and made the company go public. "Without the enormous personal effort and the outstanding achievements of Hans-Peter Bruker, Boerse Stuttgart would not have become Germany's most important stock exchange for private investors.
He laid the foundation for the successful continuing development of the Group," said Christoph Lammersdorf, CEO of Boerse Stuttgart.
Ever since the formation of Euwax AG, Dr Jan Wittig and Holger P. Härter have been members of the company's Supervisory Board. Holger P. Härter, in particular, has had a crucial influence on the development of the stock exchange and contributed many strategic ideas that impacted the present structure of the stock exchange.
The election of the Chairpersons of the individual Supervisory Boards is scheduled for the end of July.
