SET, together with 22 alliances, has jointly  launched “Care the Bear: Change the Climate Change by Eco Event” project to encourage Thai listed firms to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - Goal 13: Climate action. The project is expected to reduce 2,000 tons of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e) per year, equal to afforesting 3,200,000 square meters.

SET Senior Executive Vice President Krisada Sektrakul said, “According to the information from the Greenhouse Gas Management Organization as of 2013, Thailand emitted 350 million tons of CO2e per year, 21st rank in the world. With responsibility and concerns, SET always focuses on the operational process considering environmental, social and governance (ESG) aspects. 1. Use public transportation or car pool.
  2. Reduce the use of paper and plastic for documents and packaging.
  3. Stop using foam as decorative items or food packaging.
  4. Reduce the use of electrical appliances or use energy-saving device instead.
