NZX Head of Markets and Strategy, Fiona Mackenzie, will leave NZX in September to take up a new role as Head of Investments at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, headquartered in Auckland.
Her two years with NZX saw Fiona helping to establish the fledgling NZX Dairy Futures Market, which is gaining momentum as the most liquid dairy futures market worldwide.
“We are delighted to see Fiona moving to a role that has so much synergy with her NZX experience,” said NZX CEO Mark Weldon.
“Part of her contribution - as a member of the wider management team - has been to ensure significant bench strength in the tradeable products area, which now has its own momentum. NZX looks forward to working with Fiona to establish a closer relationship between our two critical capital market institutions,” said Weldon.
“Obviously there will be many opportunities for NZX and the Super Fund to work together more closely in the future, and I am excited to take a position to drive that relationship forward for the betterment of the markets.
“I have enjoyed the opportunity to work with the deeply passionate and talented team of individuals at NZX,” said Fiona Mackenzie.
NZX will look to both internal and external candidates as potential successors for Fiona’s role over the next few months.
