The New York Stock Exchange Individual Investors Advisory Committee provides counsel to the board of directors on the needs and concerns of individual investors. The committee advises the board on policies and programs to advance the interests of individuals who invest in equities, options, futures, and fixed income securities. The committee also serves as a liaison and enhances communications between individual shareholders and the NYSE board.
"We are honored to have Congressman LaFalce and Ed Malloy join the NYSE's Individual Investors Advisory Committee," said NYSE Chairman and CEO Dick Grasso. "Their depth of experience serving the public will enable them to significantly contribute to the work of our committee."
Since first being elected in 1974, Congressman John J. LaFalce served Western New York's 29th Congressional District as its representative until his retirement in 2002. He was ranking member of the Financial Services Committee since 1997, and played a key role in many legislative initiatives, including the landmark Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Services Modernization Act enacted in 1999.
Mr. Malloy is in his 11th year as president of the Building and Construction Trades Council and was first elected in 1992. Mr. Malloy also serves as vice president of the New York State AFL-CIO, as a member of the executive board of the New York City Central Labor Council and on the board of the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation.
