As of July 25, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.44% in July, closing at 12592.80. Stock market indexes in Europe fell while Asia and globally indexes were up in July, according to preliminary monthly figures from global index provider, Dow Jones Indexes.

  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.44% in July, closing at 12592.80. Year-to-date, the index is up 8.77%.
  • The Dow Jones Europe Titans 80 Index is down 1.68% for July, closing at 1592.07. Year-to-date, the index is up 5.26%.
  • The Dow Jones Eurozone Titans 80 Index fell 4.31% for July, closing at 1586.02. Year-to-date, the index is up 5.28%.
  • The Dow Jones Asian Titans 50 Index rose 0.95% in July to 139.36. So far this year, the index is down 4.35%.
  • The Dow Jones Global Titans 50 Index rose 2.19% in July, closing at 187.62. Year-to-date, the index is up 5.94%.

JULY 2011 Sector Winners and Losers

  • In the U.S., the Dow Jones U.S. Oil & Gas Index was the biggest winner in July, posting a 5.28% gain. The Dow Jones U.S. Telecommunication Index posted the biggest loss, dropping 3.60%.
  • In Europe, the Dow Jones Europe Health Care Index posted the biggest gain, climbing 2.89%. The Dow Jones Europe Financials Index had the sharpest decline, falling 4.91%.
  • In Asia, the Dow Jones Asia/Pacific Telecommunications Index posted the biggest gain, rising 4.32%. The Dow Jones Asia/Pacific Technology Index posted the narrowest gain, up 0.51%.
  • Globally, the Dow Jones World Technology Titans Index had the best performance, climbing 4.67%. The Dow Jones World Construction & Materials Titans Index posted the biggest loss, dropping 3.81%.
