The Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI) of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group will launch the Global Report on Islamic Finance 2018 during the 25th World Islamic Banking Conference in Bahrain on 27 November 2018.
Entitled, “The Role of Islamic Finance in Financing Long-Term Investments”, the report is the second in the series of Global Reports on Islamic Finance jointly initiated by the IsDB Group and World Bank in 2016.
An abridged version of the 2018 report was presented in April during the 43rd Annual Meeting of the IsDB Group in Tunis, Tunisia, while the full report will now be launched on 27 November 2018 in Bahrain.
The report presents a global perspective on the challenges of financing the 2030 global agenda for sustainable development, and highlights the prospects of Islamic finance towards filling the gap in funding development projects.
Dr. Sami Al-Suwailem will launch the report on behalf of the IsDB Group, while Dr. Rami Abdelkafi will give a presentation on the key findings and recommendations of the report.
Dr. Al-Suwailem will also deliver a keynote speech titled, “Islamic Banks and the Digital Revolution,” at the opening of the conference.
The World Islamic Banking Conference is an annual gathering of leading bankers, institutional investors, asset managers, policymakers, academics and other stakeholders in the global Islamic financial industry.
IRTI is participating in the conference on behalf of the IsDB Group.
