The stock exchanges of Budapest and Vienna will support the Macedonian capital market by providing know-how: jointly with their partner companies, the Hungarian International Training Center for Bankers (ITCB) and the Viennese consulting company Capital Market Experts (CAPMEX) will set up a capital market training center at the Macedonian Stock Exchange (MSE). In the future, employees of the MSE and professional market participants will benefit from the Austrian and Hungarian experts who will teach European practices for financial instruments and securities trading.
The project financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is an important contribution to the development of the young Macedonian capital market. Compared with the Vienna Stock Exchange that was founded in 1881 by Empress Maria Theresia and the Budapest Stock Exchange founded in 1864, the Macedonian exchange is only 13 years old. During this period, the Macedonian stock exchange has established solid market and information structures, and gained extensive know-how in operations. The training center gives the MSE a chance to tap into the experience and expertise of the Vienna and Budapest stock exchanges and an opportunity for the Macedonian capital market to benefit from the extensive networks of the two exchanges.
