Prior to joining Nasdaq, Kim was Senior Vice President, Corporate Operations of Purchasepro.com, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed company. There, he managed all aspects of the company's internal operations, including expense control, human resources, office administration, facilities leasing, telecommunications and community relations.
His background includes extensive work in the financial industry. He was Vice President, High Technology Investment Banking for Prudential Securities, where he completed both public and private equity capital financings for e-commerce and IT companies. He served on international equity-trading desks at Hoenig & Co., Inc. (Nasdaq: HOEN) and Lehman Brothers, Inc., residing in Tokyo, London and New York.
Early in his career, Kim was an equity research analyst at Robertson, Stephens & Company, covering biotechnology companies, and an analyst for equity capital transactions for Prudential-Bache Capital Funding.
Kim is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering.
