- Record proceeds include support from Premium Partner Sasseur Asset Management
- First of three sports events that anchor annual Bull Charge programme
The SGX Bull Charge Charity Golf tournament brought together corporates to raise $763,888 for a good cause today, the highest amount since the event started in 2013.
Teeing off at Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong course, Charity Golf is the first of three sports gatherings that anchor the annual programme of Bull Charge, Singapore Exchange’s (SGX) flagship charity initiative. Working alongside Community Chest, all proceeds will be channelled to the adopted beneficiaries for 2019: AWWA Ltd., Autism Association (Singapore), Fei Yue Community Services, HCSA Community Services and Shared Services for Charities.
Chew Sutat, SGX Bull Charge Chairman and Head of Equities & Fixed Income, said, “Over the years, the funds raised at Bull Charge events have benefitted the lives of thousands. We are appreciative of the show of support from our partners and sponsors that has enabled our beneficiaries to advance the good work they are doing. We look forward to partnering with the financial community to raise even more funds at our Charity Futsal event in September as well as our Charity Run in November.”
Community Chest supports social-service agencies in Singapore, enabling them to focus on caring for the disadvantaged. Shared Services for Charity provides professional services to non-profit organisations to achieve better governance and promote strategic partnerships. AWWA will embark on four new projects – the AWWA Adult Disability Home, a second AWWA School, a Transitional Shelter and a second AWWA Dementia Day Care Centre. Autism Association (Singapore) will continue to maximise the potential of its adult clients with moderate to severe autism to lead meaningful, independent and quality lives. Fei Yue Community Services, which reached out to over 50,000 individuals and their families last year, will extend its family counselling, eldercare and child-protection services. HCSA Community Services, which supports male ex-offenders, abused teenage girls and single parents, will focus on its new HCSA Academy Culinary Training Centre to empower and equip them with professional skills.
Sasseur Asset Management Pte Ltd., the manager of Sasseur REIT, is the Premium Partner of Bull Charge this year, while Oxley Holdings Limited and Lian Beng Group are Preferred Partners. Please see this link for the full list of sponsors.
